Biography
Anne has 30 years of experience as a lawyer. Anne’s practice has primarily focused on representing and counseling employers. She formerly worked in the litigation department at a Connecticut law firm where she worked on many cases involving various employment and insurance issues. She later helped found a firm dedicated to serving non-profits, entrepreneurs and small business employers in Pennsylvania. Some of the highlights of Anne’s litigation experience include:
In collaboration with co-counsel, defended a supervisor from claims of sexual harassment in Federal Court and secured favorable settlements;
In collaboration with co-counsel, secured a defendant’s verdict for a government entity from an attempt to waive the workers compensation bar under a state statute providing waiver for school employees who have been assaulted in a case with very high damages;
Successfully argued for payment of damages to a self-insured employer on a workers’ compensation claim from a fund for bankrupt insurers; and
defended employers at the administrative hearing level from cases claiming various kinds of discrimination including, national origin, sexual harassment, and age discrimination.
Anne also has a wealth of experience in providing strategic, practical and comprehensive legal advice, guidance and counsel to large and small employers regarding employment matters from workplace policies to employee relations.
Anne served on the Connecticut Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics for ten years.
In her community, Anne was a director at Equi-libruim, Inc. which provides equine therapy services to children and adults in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. At Equi-librium, Anne chaired the governance committee as well as several ad-hoc committees. Anne regularly volunteered at a legal clinic in Allentown, PA and a soup kitchen in Bethlehem, PA. She was also an assistant track coach at Nazareth Area High School.
Having been raised in the Lakes Region experiencing all that New Hampshire has to offer including skiing, swimming, hiking, kayaking and sailing, Anne and her husband, Jim, are enjoying their return to the Granite State.
Anne received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Anne is licensed to practice in New Hampshire, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
